Focus:
Priorities identified together with the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Women's Affairs are strengthening maternal health services and girls' education, with an initial focus on rebuilding health and education infrastructure. The Fund support Afghan refugees in neighboring countries-Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan-and displaced people within the country. It is working wi1h a number of nongovernmental organizations and international agencies-including the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), UNICEF, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the World Health Organization (WHO)- to provide respective health care and supplies, including safe delivery supplies, along with support for educational services in refugee camps and other settings.
