Portal tips

Each APDA member currently have a 'NGO space' on the APDA portal. The NGO space is the place where people can find the contact information and description of the organisation, as well as the recent publications and next events for this organisation. Since this space is probably the most important place for every members, I am writing this portal tip about it.

How to get to the NGO space

There is many way to get to the NGO space.

From the 'submitted by' link

On every article, you see a link with the name of the article. For instance, on top of this article, you can see that it is writen 'Submitted by APDA'. If you click on APDA, it will get you to APDA page.

Also, if you look in the Recent publications box, you will see the title of publication and under it, the date of submission of the article as well as the name of the organisation. If you click on the name of the organisation, you will get the this organisation page.

Directly

Another very interesting way to get to an NGO space is by the url. For instance, if we want to get to Afghan women network page, we can type directly:

www.afghanact.org/en/member/awn

Or, to get it through the pashto or dari interface (still in construction at the time of writing)

www.afghanact.org/ps/member/awn

www.afghanact.org/fa/member/awn

For each of the organisation, this gives the following addresses:

www.afghanact.org/ps/member/awn

www.afghanact.org/ps/member/sdf

www.afghanact.org/ps/member/hrcp

www.afghanact.org/ps/member/awrc

www.afghanact.org/ps/member/awn

www.afghanact.org/ps/member/awec

From the APDA members link on the top menu

The APDA members page display all members with a short description. It is possible to each of the pages by clicking read more.

The content of the NGO space

The NGO space is divided in three pages:

-the short description page, which contains the contact informations;

-the long description page, which contains the long description of the organisation;

-the publications page, which lists all publications that were previously submitted by this page.

For instance, for APDA, you get these three pages:

http://www.afghanact.org/en/member/apda (short description)

http://www.afghanact.org/en/org_informations/view/156/publications (publications page)

http://www.afghanact.org/en/org_informations/view/156/long (long description page)

Interesting thing, on each of these pages, there is a block on the right showing the next events for this organisation. This page can the serve as a basis for announcing some events for your organisation.

This block also shows the recent publications of this NGO as well as a link to the 'publications page'.
