Duration: 10 min 10 S

These young Afghans lived odd jobs in the streets of Kabul – to wash cars, to recover wood and paper, to beg. Collected by the Aschiana organization, these boys and girls attend from now on the school and rub with the maths, learn to write, learn repairing of bicycles. While speaking with sincerity about their happiness to learn, they tame the glance of the camera.

Before October 2001, Afghanistan was already one of the worst places in the world to be a child. UNICEF has now warned that 100,000 Afghan children could die this winter unless food reaches them in sufficient quantities before winter sets in.
