Project Justification:

A unique aspect of AWN is AWN’s Advocacy and awareness program. AWN currently trains women in different fields in Kabul, Jalalabad and in Peshawar- Pakistan. This project is especially designed for youth to educate them about political issues. Youth are the important part of our society that has been ignored since last years.

They are the mostly fresh citizens and without their participation no change could be made in country’s political process. They want to participate if there is an opportunity. Let’s provide the opportunity for them and let’s begin with educating them first in order to raise youth’s awareness of political rights and encourage their participation in Afghan political processes.

AWN with the collaboration of Womankind Worldwide and German State Department, for raising awareness of Afghan youth, successfully facilitated a two days training workshop under topic of "What is politics/ why we need to learn it? Who is involved and/or affected?" on January 2nd and 3rd in AWN Peshawar meeting hall. German State Department funds this four months project.

This training workshop conducted by AWN trainers Mr. Najmur Rahman Mawaj, Mr. Sarwar Saier and Ms. Shukria Yasini for training 22 youth Afghan females.

By the end of program the participants were well trained and got new information about Politics. They suggested AWN to provide further trainings on Politics and other topics.
