Women Rights Workshop

Afghan Study Center is a member of Afghan Peace and Democracy Act(APDA) and recelnty conducted some workshops in different provinces of Afghanistan as below:

This workshop was conducted at Mohammad Agha High School of Mohammad Agha district of Logar Province, the south of Afghanistan. A total of (54) person of admin staff and teachers of the Schools and some elders of the area participated in the workshop.

At the beginning, Mawlawi Bashir Ahmad, one of the teachers recited a few verses of the Holley Quran. Then, Abdullah Khan, the deputy principle of the school, inaugurated the workshop and talked on the importance of the subject and its necessity. At the end of his speech, he asked the participants to follow the topic as well and aware the people about the subject. He thanked ASC for conducting such workshops.

Hereafter, Abdul Rahman, the master trainer at ASC, explained the topic in details and told that women are the important pillar of the society. Also, he emphasized that no society can curry on the affairs without actual participation of the women. He likened the society as a bird that one wing of it is men and the other is women. It means that a bird can not fly by one wing. He added that men and women are equal in all kind of the privileges in a society. Also, he asked the authorities to pay consideration to the women rights, especially to their education programs. At the end of his speech he answered the questions asked by the participants.

The second day of the workshop was began with the reciting of some verses of the Holley Quran and hereafter Mr. Shamsulhaq Master Trainer ASC explained the Human Right’s Convention’s articles related to the women rights in details. At the end of his speech, he answered the questions asked by the participants.

Sayed Hamed Hashemi, the program coordinator at ASC, delivered the final speech of the workshop and thanked the teacher and participants for attending the workshop.
