Code of Conduct for NGOs declared

Kabul, 30th May, 2005

“Not–for –profit organization (NGOs) in Afghanistan are publicly launching an NGO Code of Conduct to help better regulate not— for – profit organization in Afghanistan and to help communicate more openly about our work with the afghan people the Code Of Conduct will benefit not –for- profit organizations by establishing clear standards of good conduct that signatories must follow, and also benefit the people, the media and the government by allowing them to better to monitor and verify our development work in Afghanistan.”

NGO Coordination Meeting on Sept 12th, 2004

Venue: Afghan Peace and Democracy Act (APDA) Meeting Room, Kabul

The meeting commenced at 02:10 pm with round table introduction at the APDA meeting room in Kabul and the participants were welcomed. Copy of the agenda was distributed around the table.

Approval of the agenda

The following agenda along were unanimously approved.

  1. APDA current activities and its future plans,
  2. Discussion about BGVS India coming visit to Afghanistan;
  3. Follow up activities of WSF held in Mumbai India;
  4. APDA multi media center possible usage by member NGOs;
  5. Discussion regarding the status of Afghan National NGOs, civil society organizations and its relations with the Government of Afghanistan;
  6. Any other business.

Chairperson briefly presented activity of APDA as following:

APDA from its establishing conducted several workshops, seminars in different fields regarding the new Afghan Constitution ,Do No Harm Peace Building, capacity building of civil society organizations, human rights especially raising overall awareness of NGOs activists students unions about child and women rights., computer trainings for the new staff of member NGOs,girls schools teachers and for some poor girls high schools students according to an agreement with the ministry of education.,APDA has close relations with the Kabul University students and we have trained a number of these students in computer programs, photography and video film production through the APDA multi media center Mr. Dominic from Alternatives Canada who is a film maker and specialist of photography has trained 90 trainees from APDA member NGOs and other organizations in filming and editing film in Final Cut pro Program and also some the produced films were released in Canadian Film website.

APDA Newsletter 4th Issue - November-December

APDA published its 4th issue of newsletter (November-December) that contains activities of its Peshawar and Kabul office and also the activities of its member NGOs.

This newsletter is published in two national (Pashto and Dari) and English languages.

APDA has performed the following activities in the month of August, 2003

Meetings:

APDA organized a one day workshop and Inauguration ceremony of APDA’s Web Portal (www.afghanact.org) on 1st September, 2003 at Continental Guest House Peshawar.

More than 30 participants including members of APDA, journalists, mass media representatives, representatives of Radio Liberty, CIDA representatives and members of other civil society organizations and activists took active participation in the ceremony.

آشنايي با مجمع زنان افغان(AWN)

در چوكات ساير موْسسات غير دولتى مجمع زنان افغان نيز به منظور تنظيم و انسجام زنان افغان سهم شايسته و همه جانبه دارد كه در رابطه به ايجاد، اهداف وفعاليت هاى اين موْسسه ذيلاً روشنى انداخته ميشود:
به ادامه چهارمين كنفرانس جهانى از جانب ملل متحد كه در شهر بيجنگ كشور چين داير گرديده بود هفت تن از زنان افغان مقيم پشاور اشتراك ورزيده بودند كه از همين جا مفكوره تأسيس يك ارگان جهت پيشبرد اتحاد و همآهنگى بين زنان بوجود آمد.
